Do you have a bookshelf on board your boat? What books are you sure take with you and have at hand?
When the kids finally explored the new-to-us boat, one of the most exciting things for the kids (and us parents) was the bookshelves! We’ve got close to 10 feet of book storage. There is a six foot (~ 2 meter) bookshelf above the starboard settee, and about 4 feet (with mirrored cupboards) above the port settee.
Being avid readers, it did not take us long to fill both bookshelves with books! In fact, I think this was one of the little things that made the boat feel like a home rather than just an exploration vehicle. Bookshelves make a subtle but important difference.
I thought I would start a little series talking about some of the books we make sure to keep on the bookshelves (if they are not being read and looked at on the table, bunk, settee, etc.).
But I’m curious. What categories do you have? What do you bring along? How often do the books get changed out? Leave a comment below.
