That was the question for Children’s Time this morning.
They are all “tools” that can be used for good.
But we shouldn’t be hammering each other with the Scripture.
The Bible is complex, but a theme running through is the Divine’s preferential treatment of those at the bottom: the widow, the orphan, the sojourner in our midst.
So scripture is like a glass of water given to someone who is parched. Water to slowly wear down the granite of our souls so that the spiritual fruits may grow: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
It is Sunday, and I didn’t give you an entire sermon. 😉
