It was an honor to be there for this blessing and to listen.

“We are people of the salmon.
… Will my grandchildren know the taste of salmon?”
Before the event started I was speaking with some one who was doing graduate work at Washington State University when the dams went in. He remembers state fisheries representatives talking about how these dams would mean the extinction of the salmon.
We were then given a sticker, which I included.
It’s not an easy solution.
We now use more electricity than when these dams went in. I also remember talks 15 years ago about how we were 50 years ahead of where we should be in terms of silt build up behind the dams, due to our farming practices.
How willing are we to change?
Do we see creation as having rights?
If we were to see the cosmos as sacred because it is saturated with the One in whom we move have our being, how would that change our perspective?
