A survivor of the old lug rigged fishing boats, Barnabas was first registered in 1881 as a Class 2 pilchard boat (634 SS) then later as a Class 1 mackerel driver (SS 634). The number is said to have been chosen as it corresponded to the hymn “Will Your Anchor Hold” from the Methodist hymnal at the time.
That hymn is not in ours, so I might have to l look i it up. How the congregation respond to a new (old) number?
With the Methodist connection, now you know why I had to sketch Barnabas. 😃
And, yup, is another @doug_jackson_artwork #boatober2022 picts. What can I say? Advent was busy!
Christmas and New Years blessings to all of you!
