After the Park (see yesterday’s previous post), we ate lunch in the van before preceding.
As we were making lunch, this weke came up and was very tempted by someone’s biscuit (cookie).
I had to sketch it in a couple of poses.
This lead to sketching one of the seagulls (which look a lot like the bonaparte gulls we have around here as they migrate through). Then I had to include the pukeke! These were really fun to watch.
These weren’t the only birds we saw, some of them moved to fast to get a good photo as a reference, or were very similar to what we had here, etc. But these bring to mind what we did see.
The Ti or Cabbage Tree is from the Christchurch Botanical Garden, but they were everywhere. I just didn’t know what they were called until we saw the sign in the Garden.
