1st Week of Advent & Thanksgiving – Pastoral Letter

“Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near. Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.”
~ Philippians 4:4-7 (CEB)

Dearest Community,

During this week of Thanksgiving, I just wanted to express my own gratitude for all of you who are connected to the United Church community.

Throughout the short time I’ve served as your pastor, I have watched our hearts turn toward each other. Truly, when one is suffering, we all are. The same holds true for the larger communities in which we live. Our eyes of compassion are not just turned inward but faithfully look where we might be of faithful service in the larger community.

When I see the ways in which we see Christ in the stranger and sojourner, it fills me with joy and thankfulness.

Thank you for celebrating who we are as a community of faith, and shares that faith out into the larger world.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
